As Christians, God encourages us to live out our life by living the examples of Jesus. We are not called just to be talkers, that is, telling others how they should be living. Jesus in Matt 23 raises this truth. Though Jesus is talking to leaders, I have so often come across how just the ordinary believer loves to tell others how they should apply themselves. But are you a doer of your own instructions? Do we do what we are telling others to do, to be? The final verdict to such a life where we are only talkers, instructors and failing to do it ourselves is that we are then hypocrites according to Jesus. So before we go around instructing others, let us first evaluate whether I am a doer of that same instruction.
